Über PD Dr. Annika Gieselmann
Als approbierte Psychotherapeutin mit langjähriger klinischer und wissenschaftlicher Erfahrung liegt mein besonderer Schwerpunkt auf der Diagnostik und Behandlung von Schlafstörungen. Im Rahmen meiner Promotion konnte ich zeigen, dass sich insbesondere dann durch Grübeln das Einschlafen verzögert, wenn die Betroffenen die Neigung haben, in affektiven Lagen zu verharren. Auch über die Promotion hinaus beschäftigte ich mich mit dem Schlaf und habilitierte mich mit Arbeiten zur Wirksamkeit einer Chat-basierten Kurzzeitintervention bei Insomnie und lotete die Wirksamkeit sowie die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen einer Digitalen Gesundheitsanwendung (DiGA) zur Behandlung der Insomnie aus, welche als App auf Rezept verordnet werden kann. Ich beschäftigte mich damit, den Stress zu definieren, den Albträume auslösen können, und versuchte den Leidensdruck bei Tagesmüdigkeit zu messen. Als Praktikerin setze ich mich mit Leidenschaft dafür ein, dass möglichst viele Menschen erfahren, dass schlechte Schlafqualität nicht naturgegeben ist und dass Albträume eine klinisch bedeutsame und gut behandelbare Erkrankung darstellen können.
Nach Stationen in Osnabrück, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf und Köln kehre ich wieder in die Stadt zurück, in der ich geboren wurde, um dort meine Kenntnisse einzubringen. Ich bleibe aber Dozentin an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf und der Universität Osnabrück. Ich betreue Dissertationen, halte Vorträge und gebe Workshops für Profis im Gesundheitssystem und für alle, deren Interesse ich mit meinen Themen wecken kann.
